On my stories yesterday, I was asking about preventative joint supplements and thank you so much for responding!

Whiskey's almost coming up on 7 and although she's been very active and healthy, I am trying to prevent any issues that may happen. The only time she's shown aches and pains was after our 5-day backcountry adventure hauling a pack through some of the craziest terrain I've been on (humans fared similarly).

We're looking at everything from chewables to liquids to powders specifically glucosamine (apparently liquid is best) and green lipped mussels. We already use GreenMin/Soulfood/Feelgood supplements from Dr Dobias (I'll put the link up just for today on my bio), feed raw, and adjust food according to activity. To be fair I don't take care of myself the same, and don't take any supplements, but I can make decisions about how I feel and what I want to eat from day to day.

What have you found that has helped? My friend @creeks.and.peaks somehow always has the longest living dogs that hike up the biggest mountains and she swears she doesn't do anything special (except stay active). I tend to be the person that tries everything preventatively and still struggles through life 😆 but hey what's life without a good struggle?

I sort of thought all Vizslas were kissy like Whiskey and then realized open-air facials were special and to be cherished. Whiskey can provide a full 15min service and especially loves slow mornings.
Bourbon's not much of a kisser but she does love to wash my sheets every morning 🙄🤔🤷. #squamishisawesome

One of my biggest fears about getting a second dog

One of my biggest fears about getting a second dog was if Whiskey hated her. I've known a bunch of friends with two dogs that cohabitate but don't love each other. Whiskey's not generally a fan of puppies and it did take a couple days for her to accept Bourbon cuddling, and a couple weeks to play, but now I regularly find them cuddled together on daybed waiting for their next adventure. Sisters forevermore 💕

So I've been spending the last week freaking out a

So I've been spending the last week freaking out a little bit about Bourbon becoming a fully grown teenager in what seems overnight.

It's really hard to tell how well I've succeeded in training Gremlin. No one just pops out if the woods with a "Congratulations you've reached level 1!" so I randomly wake up in the middle of the night sweating that there's something that I'm really missing and spend the next day working on leash or recall like a maniac.

The thing is, that she's awesome! I love her and she's been such a perfect addition but I'm a wee bit scared for teenager Bourbon to show up! The way she's so friendly and happy and lives such a carefree hippie life, I just don't want this to change... Isn't it weird that although I want this Covid thing thing to hurry up and get back to normal, some part of me hopes it stays like this forever...
